A Suse Case Study
The Open University, UK needed a simple way to teach 700 students with widely varying technical backgrounds how to build and install Linux as part of its “Technologies in Practice” module. To replace an older tool and keep the course accessible for both beginners and experienced learners, the university chose Suse SUSE Studio, a web-based product for creating and managing Linux images.
Suse implemented SUSE Studio to give students a step-by-step, easy-to-follow process for building customized Linux systems in virtual or ISO format. The result was a successful rollout with positive student feedback, no major issues, and portfolio work that confirmed the tool helped all skill levels learn Linux and simplified deployment of bespoke software images.
