A Suse Case Study
LuLu Group International, a fast-growing retail and wholesale business in the GCC, needed a more cost-effective, scalable way to run its SAP for Retail ERP and later improve reporting and analytics with SAP HANA. Its existing Solaris and proprietary Sun hardware environment was costly to maintain and difficult to expand, prompting the company to look for a platform with better availability, security, and lower total cost of ownership. Suse’s SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications was chosen for both the ERP and SAP HANA environments.
Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, along with SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, helping LuLu Group International migrate smoothly and largely with its in-house team. The results included at least a 20 percent reduction in operational costs, improved availability, security, and performance, and a high-performance foundation for business analytics. The company also reported easy management, seamless scalability, and extremely high availability for its mission-critical SAP systems.
