Knorr-Bremse AG, a global leader in braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles, needed a way to collect real-time data from older factory machines that lacked modern monitoring capabilities. Suse implemented an enterprise-grade, secure platform optimized for ARM and included a built-in Raspberry Pi image, helping Knorr-Bremse launch its project quickly. The solution is now being rolled out plant by plant, with the goal of reaching all facilities worldwide, and is expected to improve production efficiency by enabling faster response to bottlenecks, reducing unplanned downtime, and centralizing data for analysis.
