ICU IT Services, a Netherlands-based computer services company, needed a way to expand beyond its mainframe roots and offer cost-effective Linux solutions without sacrificing performance, security, or 24/7 reliability. As customers faced tighter IT budgets, ICU IT Services turned to Suse and its SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for IBM LinuxONE to support scalable, enterprise-grade open-source services.

Suse helped ICU IT Services launch SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on IBM LinuxONE Rockhopper, creating the first LinuxONE environment to go live in the Benelux. The platform lets ICU IT Services run 100 to 200 virtual Linux instances on just two CPUs, replacing roughly 40 to 50 physical x86 servers and delivering major savings in space, energy, software costs, and management effort while broadening its service portfolio and market potential.
