A Suse Case Study
Hostnordic, a Scandinavian managed services provider, wanted to expand its Microsoft-based hosting portfolio with Linux virtual servers to win new end-to-end cloud business. The challenge was adding the Linux offering without increasing support headcount or raising operating costs. Suse helped address this with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Manager, and the SUSE Manager Management Pack for Microsoft System Center.
Suse implemented a tightly integrated solution that let Hostnordic provision, monitor, and manage Linux servers through familiar Microsoft tools and workflows. The result was a rapid, cost-effective launch of the new hosting service, avoiding the need to increase support staff by 20 percent and keeping deployment, maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery costs low. Hostnordic also expanded its product offering by 20 percent without additional personnel.
