Case Study: HKU achieves scalable, resilient storage with SUSE Enterprise Storage

A Suse Case Study

HKU - Customer Case Study

HKU, the University of the Arts Utrecht in the Netherlands, was struggling with rapidly growing storage demands as students created and shared more high-resolution digital media across a decentralized, multi-site environment. The fragmented storage setup created dependencies, made maintenance difficult, and caused downtime for applications and users. SUSE Enterprise Storage was used as the vendor solution.

HKU worked with SUSE to deploy a clustered SUSE Enterprise Storage environment, initially as a three-node test system and then expanded to four nodes in production, with nearly all file and block storage migrated onto it. The result was a scalable, resilient, lower-TCO platform that eliminated maintenance downtime, simplified administration, and reduced the time and effort spent managing storage, while supporting growth across multiple sites and freeing up funds for other priorities.
