Greenply - Customer Case Study

Greenply, India’s largest interior infrastructure company and a leader in plywood and MDF, needed a new resilient SAP ERP environment after demerging its decorative business. The company wanted real-time stock visibility, stronger supply-chain integration, and lower total cost of ownership, while moving away from its costly proprietary IBM AIX and Power Systems stack. Suse provided the solution with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, and SUSE Manager.

Suse helped Greenply migrate its SAP ERP landscape to clustered SUSE Linux on VMware and SAP HANA, creating a highly available platform with disaster recovery support. The result was 99.999% availability, better performance, and easier management across 60 OS instances. Greenply cut report times from about an hour to a few minutes, reduced full backup time from up to 10 hours to 15 minutes, and improved restore time to 20 minutes, while also lowering operating costs and eliminating dependence on proprietary hardware.
