A Suse Case Study

Preview of the Getronics Case Study

Getronics - Customer Case Study

Getronics, the Netherlands’ largest provider of IT services, needed to build a new SAP hosting environment for a major utility company that wanted to lower total cost of ownership while supporting a more automated customer information system and 24-hour self-service portal. To meet the challenge, Getronics turned to Suse and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for a high-performance, highly available, and flexible data center platform.

Working with Suse and partners including IBM, Oracle, REALTECH, and B1 Systems GmbH, Getronics implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with High Availability Storage Infrastructure and Oracle RAC on IBM System x3850 servers. The solution delivered a robust SAP platform, cut TCO, and enabled failover from a complete server failure within one minute, giving the client a scalable environment for nearly two million customers and mission-critical, always-on services.
