Farys, a Belgian water utility serving about 700,000 customers, needed to improve the speed and scalability of its analytics as SAP workloads became more complex and data-intensive. It turned to Suse, using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications along with SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension and SUSE Manager to support its move to an SAP HANA-based platform.

Suse helped Farys build a high-performance, highly available SAP HANA environment on flexible HPE infrastructure. The results were significant: query times dropped from an average of 24 hours to less than 20 minutes, enabling faster analytics, while the SUSE-based high-availability approach saved about €95,000 compared with a third-party solution.
