The European Space Agency (ESA) needed to modernize its financial applications, which were running across a costly, heterogeneous mix of operating systems and slowing IT operations. To improve efficiency and reduce costs, ESA worked with Suse and selected SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, along with SUSE Manager and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Priority Support.

Suse helped ESA migrate both SAP and non-SAP financial systems to a consolidated, virtualized Linux environment with centralized management and enterprise support. The results included 40% lower maintenance costs, elimination of about 150 physical servers, a fully virtualized 500-server environment, and 10% savings in energy and cooling costs, all while improving speed and reliability of financial processes.
