Epitech, France’s leading specialist institution for computer science education, needed a way to teach students how to build and run private cloud infrastructure while also providing cost-effective virtual workspaces for student projects. The school had planned to use OpenStack, but the standard community edition created configuration and deployment challenges.

SUSE helped Epitech Marseille by implementing SUSE OpenStack Cloud and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12, giving the school a more packaged, easier-to-manage cloud environment. As a result, Epitech simplified cloud deployment and administration, quickly created sandbox environments, and gave students practical experience with open cloud technologies used in real production systems, including its intranet and RFID-based student ID system.
