A Suse Case Study
Dynaplast, a leading Indonesian rigid plastic packaging manufacturer, needed to expand its SAP applications but was constrained by proprietary UNIX servers that could no longer keep up with growing workloads. To improve performance and reduce costs, Dynaplast worked with Suse and used SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on industry-standard Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers and ETERNUS storage.
Suse implemented the migration, including test moves for SAP applications and the Oracle database, and deployed a clustered, high-availability setup. The result was lower hardware and software costs, month-end financial close no longer delayed, backup time cut from more than two hours to around 30 minutes, and better SAP response times and flexibility for future growth.
