Delta Lloyd Lebensversicherung AG, part of Delta Lloyd Germany AG, needed to lower Linux server management costs without sacrificing availability, security, or support quality for its Red Hat Enterprise Linux landscape. The insurer managed a mix of physical and virtual servers running SAP, Oracle, and policy systems, and was looking for a simpler, lower-cost alternative to Red Hat Network Satellite.

Working with ProtoSoft AG, Delta Lloyd implemented SUSE Manager and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with Expanded Support from SUSE. The rollout took just two weeks with no training required, and the company continued to manage about 120 servers while cutting software licensing costs by approximately 20 percent, all without disruption to operations or loss of patch quality.
