A Suse Case Study
CNCA, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China, needed to support rapidly growing nationwide certification and accreditation operations, but its mixed Windows and Linux environment made it difficult to standardize management, maintain availability, and keep up with security patches. The CNCA IT Centre also faced rising infrastructure demands, higher management costs, and limited staff time for server administration, so it looked to Suse and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for a more reliable platform.
Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as CNCA’s strategic operating system across headquarters and regional offices, creating a unified, secure, and highly available platform for business applications and databases. The results were strong: CNCA estimated a 15% reduction in total cost of ownership and an 80% improvement in IT administrative efficiency, with server administration reduced to just one full-time person.
