China UnionPay Merchant Services - Customer Case Study

China UnionPay Merchant Services (CUMS), a Chinese state-owned provider of bank card acceptance and integrated payment services, needed a more stable and reliable IT foundation to support rapid growth and over 10 million daily transactions. As competition increased, the company turned to Suse and its Linux enterprise platform to ensure core systems could deliver the high availability and performance its customers expected.

Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and the SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension to consolidate CUMS’s operating environment and strengthen service continuity. The result was an ultra-stable platform with much better high-availability capabilities, minimal management overhead, and no significant issues over more than 10 years; it supported a tenfold growth in the business, improved employee productivity, and helped ensure non-stop services.
