A Suse Case Study
Beijing Computing Center, a leading Chinese government computing research agency, needed to keep up with rapidly growing high-performance computing demand as its operations nearly doubled each year. To improve performance and flexibility across its expanding supercomputing environment, it turned to Suse and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server to support Beijing Computing Center’s supercomputing cluster, helping manage around 1,000 servers and 10,000 processor cores more efficiently. The results included about 50% less administration effort, 20% higher staff productivity, lower licensing costs, and major performance gains, including cutting one project’s processing time from around six hours to just a few minutes.
