A Suse Case Study
ARCHIVA, an Italian digital archiving service provider, needed a more reliable and secure way to receive, store, and trace tens of millions of client files each day. With multiple FTP services running across different operating systems, the company was facing frequent client complaints, rising support demands, and concerns about maintaining strict security and availability standards. ARCHIVA turned to Suse, using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server to address these challenges.
Suse implemented SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as ARCHIVA’s strategic operating system, consolidating 14 virtual servers into six virtualized instances with a high-availability setup for file reception and database processes. The result was a 90% reduction in client support requests, an 80% drop in server management costs, and a more secure, stable platform for fast file transfer and retrieval.
