APA-IT Informations Technologie GmbH, the IT service provider for Austria’s national news agency APA, needed to standardize and integrate business processes while replacing a highly customized ERP system with SAP ERP and SAP HANA. To support smooth, cost-efficient operations without adding management complexity, APA-IT turned to Suse and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications.
Suse worked with APA-IT and partner XIT-cross information technologies to implement a SAP HANA-based landscape on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, using preconfigured appliances, VMware virtualisation, and replicated Cisco UCS servers across two data centers. The result was simplified SAP deployment and maintenance, better compatibility with future SAP releases, and a highly stable platform with 99.9999% availability for central ERP services across the group.
