Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance - Customer Case Study

The Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA), led by Director of Research Tony Fisher, conducts economic-impact studies at sporting events across Canada and needed a modern, portable survey solution when its legacy Palm-based system required license renewal. The challenges were limited platform support, no online surveying, high per-response costs, and the logistics of shipping devices to field interviewers nationwide.

CSTA adopted Survey Analytics’ SurveyPocket, deploying surveys to lightweight iPod Touch devices and using the platform’s unlimited-response pricing, online survey tool and QR-code options. The result was easier remote deployment (surveys pushed to interviewers in British Columbia), lower shipping and per-response costs, and greater flexibility—allowing both in-person interviewer collection and self-completed online surveys for athletes and attendees.
