Sedona AZ DPW Awards Surveillance Secure Contract for Solar Powered Surveillance System for Traffic Monitoring

The City of Sedona Department of Public Works contracted Surveillance Secure to tackle recurring congestion and safety issues at the city’s traffic circles. The jurisdiction needed a way to monitor traffic flow and speeding, enable license-plate identification and long-term pattern analysis, and do so in locations without conventional power or internet.

Surveillance Secure deployed solar-powered pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras mounted on poles to cover multiple traffic circles with continuous 360° rotation, high-zoom capability for plate recognition, and up to 20-mile video transmission. The solution lets Sedona monitor congestion and speeding in real time, supports Silver‑alert/offender identification, reduces the number of fixed cameras required by covering multiple views with a single PTZ, and brings traffic-management visibility to remote sites without grid power.
