Preview of the Scottsboro Electric Power Board Case Study

Scottsboro Electric Power Board trims electricity costs and serves 8,500 customers with Survalent

The Scottsboro Electric Power Board (SEPB) was invited by the Tennessee Valley Authority to participate in a conservation voltage regulation (CVR) program to reduce power consumption and lower costs. To meet the program's demands, SEPB needed a voltage regulation software that could monitor its electrical network. The utility chose to implement SurvalentONE DVR from its existing vendor, Survalent, for seamless integration with its current ADMS.

The SurvalentONE DVR solution enabled SEPB to maintain voltages within a tighter band and integrate with new AMI technology to read true end-of-line voltages. As a result of implementing Survalent's solution, SEPB receives a reduced wholesale power cost, automatically reduces daily peaks, and has increased the stability of its distribution network.
