Cobb EMC pays for SurvalentONE ADMS with savings from support and improved operational efficiencies

Cobb EMC, the second-largest electric distribution cooperative in Georgia, needed to modernize an aging SCADA system it had used for more than 15 years. The utility was looking for better usability, greater flexibility, lower maintenance costs, and an ADMS platform that could support future smart grid initiatives, so it selected Survalent and its SurvalentONE SCADA and DMS solution.

Survalent implemented the system in phases, starting with SCADA and offline environments, and Cobb EMC achieved a smoother, more intuitive operation with simpler administration and maintenance. Operators reported decision making was 25 to 50% faster, upgrades could be done without Survalent assistance, and support savings were significant enough that Cobb EMC said the reduced support costs paid for the new Survalent ADMS system.
