A Survalent Case Study
Central Georgia EMC, a Georgia electric cooperative serving more than 55,000 customers across parts of 14 counties, needed to replace an inflexible legacy system that relied on proprietary database technology and made it difficult to scale, innovate, and improve reliability. SurvalentONE SCADA and FLISR were chosen to address the cooperative’s diverse service territory, rising customer expectations, and need to reduce outage downtime while keeping implementation low-risk and minimally disruptive.
Survalent implemented a unified SurvalentONE platform that integrated SCADA, FLISR, and later DMS capabilities on a single interface. With Survalent, Central Georgia EMC cut outage repair time by 16%, reduced CAIDI by 27% in the first year, and lowered SAIDI from 130 minutes to 65.8 minutes in two years, while also reducing manual outage work, service calls, and overtime costs.
