OrthoNY Pain Management University - Customer, an Albany-based orthopedic practice, faced a cumbersome paper-based scheduling process with forms and checklists moving desk-to-desk, no uniform workflow, and no way to track surgery status or authorizations. These manual gaps caused cases to fall through the cracks and made coverage across sites difficult, especially for surgeons seeing patients at satellite offices.
Surgimate implemented an electronic, uniform surgery-scheduling workflow used at all nine locations, with immediate case entry, proactive follow-up, insurance-authorization tracking, and automated status reminders. As a result of Surgimate’s solution, OrthoNY eliminated manual steps, generated quality and reporting outputs, and significantly grew its surgical practice (from 19 to 43 surgeons) while substantially increasing the number of WC reimbursements.
