Students get answers via YouTube to what they never dared to ask

The Amsterdam UMC identified a significant educational challenge where medical students and co-assistants lacked teaching and guidance in radiology, a crucial diagnostic skill. This knowledge gap left them feeling unsure and reluctant to ask questions in clinical settings. To address this, they partnered with SURF to develop a solution using its services for the open and online education incentive scheme.

SURF helped Amsterdam UMC create the Radiology Education Clinic, a platform where students submit questions anonymously. Radiologists then answer them during interactive, live-streamed YouTube sessions, creating a safe and accessible learning environment. This SURF-supported solution has achieved substantial reach, with the YouTube channel garnering over 700 subscribers and 11,000 views, successfully improving radiological knowledge for students and healthcare professionals.
