HAN University of Applied Sciences - Customer Case Study

The customer, HAN University of Applied Sciences, sought to operate more sustainably by tackling the challenge of electronic waste (e-waste). The university partnered with the vendor SURF to develop a new, more circular methodology for managing its IT equipment after being motivated by the national Raw Materials Agreement.

As the solution, SURF provided its report "Grip op e-waste" and a practical flowchart, which the customer used as a foundational tool to shape its approach and raise internal awareness. The immediate results included establishing new processes for reusing, repurposing, and sustainably disposing of hardware. The vendor SURF acted as a catalyst and initiator, helping to instigate these changes and inspire other organizations to move on e-waste.
