Design thinking Open Resources Platform provides inspiration and sparks student creativity

The customer, Inholland University of Applied Sciences, faced a challenge where students struggled with using imagination and creativity within the design thinking method, causing the process to remain superficial. Lecturer Mark Jacobs identified the need for resources to teach and inspire students to think more creatively.

The vendor, SURF, through its Open and Online Education Incentive Scheme, supported the creation of the Design Thinking Open Resources Platform (DORP). This solution is an open collection of examples that spark creativity, including successful and failed prototypes. SURF's involvement helped establish a scalable community and platform for sharing resources across educational institutions, encouraging cross-domain exchange and deepening the practice of design thinking.
