Burke Shire Council utilises SurePact’s Project Management Framework to mitigate risk in project delivery

Burke Shire Council, a remote local government in far north‑west Queensland with a population of about 550, faced constrained resources and a heavy reliance on grant funding, but lacked a simple, disciplined project management framework. After a recent delivery issue that had not followed governance steps, the Council used SurePact’s Project Management Framework to quickly evaluate progress, assess risk and identify corrective actions.

To address this, Burke Shire Council is rolling its CAPEX program into SurePact and adopting SurePact’s end‑to‑end Project Management Framework as a single point of truth for projects. SurePact has provided greater visibility, reduced reliance on spreadsheets and emails, improved task management and risk control, and enabled the Council to deliver Burke Town’s 1‑megalitre water storage project on schedule before the wet season — avoiding isolation‑related delays and closing out the delivery scope.
