How Dura Vermeer used drones and AI in a major renovation tender

The construction company Dura Vermeer, in partnership with the housing corporation Vestia (now Hef Wonen), faced the challenge of preparing a tender for a major renovation project without causing significant inconvenience to residents and while avoiding the subjective, inaccurate, and costly data typical of traditional manual inspections. To address this, they engaged vendor SupRmen to create a detailed photorealistic 3D model of the entire complex for the tender process.

SupRmen’s solution utilized drones and high-resolution cameras to capture data and build a precise online 3D model, which all contractors used to create their bids. The results were significant: the tender preparation time was reduced from six weeks to just two. This led to more accurate and competitive bids, saved at least 200 work hours by reducing site visits, and minimized disruption to residents.
