Case Study: ZF Group achieves greater efficiency and transparency with SupplyOn

A SupplyOn Case Study

Preview of the ZF Group Case Study

ZF Passau GmbH chooses SupplyOn when carrying out its reorganization project

ZF Group’s ZF Passau GmbH, a specialist in transmission systems and axles for agricultural/construction machinery and commercial vehicles, was under pressure to cut costs, improve quality, and manage highly complex purchasing and logistics processes with large parts lists and many customers. To support its reorganization projects, proFIT and eFIT, ZF Passau turned to SupplyOn and its EDI/WebEDI platform to provide a stronger technological foundation for digital process optimization.

SupplyOn implemented electronic and automated ordering and delivery processes, including delivery instructions, dispatch notifications, self-billing invoices, standard invoices, and supplier performance management via the SupplyOn Performance Monitor. The results included a tripling of deliveries between 2004 and 2007 while fewer delivery notes had to be processed, 80% of suppliers using the web-based exchange system, and around 60% of delivery notes and invoices handled through SupplyOn processes, with a target of 90% by 2009. SupplyOn also helped improve transparency, reduce manual work and errors, and support ongoing supplier development.
