Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), Switzerland’s national rail operator, wanted to replace a heavily manual ordering process based on email and fax with a more efficient digital purchase-to-pay workflow. Working with SupplyOn, SBB adopted the RailSupply solution to streamline purchasing and procurement logistics across its rail supply operations.

SupplyOn implemented a phased rollout covering order confirmations, advance shipping notifications, invoicing, and demand forecasts, with pilots used to validate the process before wider deployment. The result was faster and more reliable order processing, fewer manual controls in invoice verification, improved collaboration through higher data quality, better goods receipt and supply security, and reduced stock levels; SBB also planned to expand the solution to more suppliers, additional divisions, and vendor-managed inventory.
