Hirschvogel Automotive Group, a forging and machining specialist, faced significant challenges in managing its increasingly large and complex consignment warehouses for customer Schaeffler. Manually recording stock was time-consuming and error-prone, leading to costly special deliveries, high inventory depreciations, and coordination issues. To address this, Hirschvogel partnered with vendor SupplyOn to automate its processes.

SupplyOn implemented a solution using its platform and the EDIFACT data standard to create a seamless EDI link with Hirschvogel’s ERP system. This automated the entire process from stock removals to comparisons, ensuring real-time data transfer and batch number processing. The results were substantial time savings, with manual tasks reduced from several hours weekly to minutes daily. Hirschvogel achieved total stock transparency, real-time and accurate invoicing, simplified returns processing, and significantly fewer coordination requirements with its customer.
