Continental Automotive, a global automotive supplier, needed to standardize and centralize its procurement process across the group to meet growing compliance requirements and manage highly complex sourcing decisions. With around 2,500 contract awards per year, 1,200 buyers at more than 100 production sites, and a procurement volume of 12 billion euros, the company needed a way to document sourcing decisions transparently from request for quotation through final award. Continental Automotive chose SupplyOn and its Sourcing platform to support this transformation.
SupplyOn implemented a centralized, standardized sourcing process with configurable decision templates, automated bid evaluation, and a procurement database called the Sourcing List. The solution improved transparency, made awards incontestable, reduced manual bid evaluation, and strengthened buyers’ negotiating position through better analysis of prices and volumes. As a result, Continental Automotive reduced coordination effort, sped up sourcing decisions, minimized audit preparation, and trained 650 buyers across Europe, Asia, and NAFTA in about two months.
