A Supermicro Case Study
The Institute for Computer Science and Control (SZTAKI), a premier research organization in Hungary, required a high-performance computing platform to support its advanced research in areas like medical imaging, autonomous systems, and language modeling. Their challenge was to utilize the latest GPU technology to allow for more complex research and drastically reduce the time it took for their algorithms to run. They selected a Supermicro A+ server equipped with NVIDIA GPUs to meet these demands.
Supermicro provided its A+ 4124GO-NART server featuring 2nd Gen AMD EPYC processors and eight NVIDIA A100 GPUs interconnected with high-speed NVLink technology. This solution enabled SZTAKI's researchers to run algorithms approximately 20 times faster on a number of tasks compared to their previous systems. The immense performance gain from Supermicro has significantly increased the pace of their research, allowing them to make discoveries more quickly and produce better outcomes.
