Case Study: Vexata achieves real-time SQL Server data warehouse performance with Supermicro and Intel Xeon Scalable processors

A Supermicro Case Study

Preview of the Vexata Case Study

Extreme high-performance storage array company Vexata uses Supermicro hardware that enables new new levels of performance and efficiency

Vexata, a provider of enterprise storage solutions, identified that businesses were struggling to achieve real-time analytics due to inefficient storage architectures that could not utilize the full bandwidth of modern flash media, creating a bottleneck for their data infrastructure. This latency prevented SQL Server Data Warehouse deployments from performing at the required speed for immediate business insights.

Super Micro Computer (Supermicro) implemented a solution combining their X11 generation servers, powered by the Intel Xeon Scalable processor family, with the Vexata Array. This high-performance infrastructure achieved a Microsoft DWFT certification, delivering a 33% performance increase and supporting a 138% larger database. The Supermicro and Vexata solution enabled a single server to handle over 100TB of data, providing the ultra-high bandwidth and low latency needed for real-time analytics.
