Varkey Foundation inspires 2 immersive future simulations with Superflux

The Varkey Foundation, a global education charity, faced the challenge of moving beyond simplistic and fear-based narratives around automation and the future of work to provoke deeper critical thinking among educators and decision-makers. They engaged the design studio Superflux to create an experiential futures installation to address this.

Superflux designed and produced "Stark Choices," an immersive theatrical simulation that transported participants into two extreme future scenarios of work and automation. The experience successfully provoked a diverse audience of leaders and educators, leading to profound reflections on agency and alternative futures. The insights gathered directly informed the future strategy and vision for the Varkey Foundation and several other participating organizations.
