V&A commissions 6 films with Superflux for The Future Starts Here

The Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) commissioned Superflux to create an audiovisual experience for its landmark exhibition, "The Future Starts Here." The challenge was to help visitors comprehend the complex societal, cultural, and environmental contexts and consequences of the over 100 emerging technologies on display, moving beyond a simple display of objects to foster deeper critical engagement.

Superflux produced six films and an interactive facial recognition mirror, designed to make future technologies feel immediate and intimate. The solution allowed visitors to comprehend the wider implications of technology, see the future as a plural and ongoing journey, and understand their own agency in shaping it. The films were projected throughout the exhibition, successfully enhancing visitor immersion both sensorially and philosophically.
