IKEA showcases 30+ climate solutions with Superflux at New York Climate Week

IKEA, through its parent company Ingka Group, faced the challenge of creating a meaningful and impactful presence at New York Climate Week 2023. They needed to move beyond traditional corporate messaging to genuinely engage business leaders, NGOs, and the public on the urgency of the climate crisis and inspire tangible hope and action. To address this, they commissioned the design studio Superflux to conceive and produce a large-scale, multi-sensory immersive installation.

Superflux designed and produced the Action Speaks Summit, a two-story experience that first confronted visitors with the stark reality of the climate crisis and then transported them to a speculative, positive vision of New York in 2050. The solution included an exhibition curated by Superflux that showcased actionable climate initiatives from over 30 organizations. The highly successful summit provided a stand-out experience during Climate Week and its impact led directly to the creation of a permanent Action Speaks Community platform for ongoing business collaboration on climate initiatives.
