EPSRC engages over 1,200 visitors with Superflux’s 5th Dimensional Camera

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) collaborated with the design studio Superflux to create a public engagement artifact that would communicate the complex principles of quantum computing and the 'many-worlds' theory to a broad audience.

Superflux designed and produced the 5th Dimensional Camera, a fictional device and metaphorical prototype that was presented as being capable of capturing glimpses of parallel universes. The solution successfully engaged over 1200 visitors at its initial exhibition and was later featured in a major show at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, achieving significant reach and impact for the EPSRC's research.
