Case Study: Kobinet-Nachrichten strengthens independent nonprofit news with Superdesk

Kobinet-Nachrichten, a German nonprofit news organization, needed a replacement for its sunsetting Newscoop CMS after successfully running its publishing operations on it from 2013 to 2019. They evaluated several options but ultimately chose Superdesk, Sourcefabric’s open-source headless CMS, because it was flexible and matched their editorial needs.

Superdesk was implemented in just two months, helping Kobinet-Nachrichten maintain the same publishing output with fewer editors and work more efficiently, especially in managing images. The organization now publishes about seven articles a day on average, along with a monthly column, and distributes content through its website, Facebook, Twitter, and a weekly newsletter, showing how Superdesk supports both productivity and broader audience reach.
