STT opens real-time newsroom planning with Superdesk in 2 phases

The Finnish news agency STT faced a challenge in providing its publisher clients with real-time visibility into its news coverage plans. Following a customer survey that revealed a clear need for this, STT partnered with vendor Sourcefabric and its Superdesk software to enhance its client web portal and make its content planning more accessible.

Through a collaborative workshop funded by the Stars4Media programme, Sourcefabric adapted its Superdesk software to better integrate with STT's unique workflow, which relies heavily on planning items. The solution provided STT's clients with the ability to see what articles were being worked on in real time, allowing them to plan their own resources more effectively. The project was a success, receiving a Stars4Media award, and its open-source enhancements will benefit the wider Superdesk user community.
