How Tide removed 100% of their emissions

Tide, one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing fintechs, wanted to fully neutralize its carbon footprint and become the first fintech to remove 100% of its emissions. To do this they engaged Supercritical and used Supercritical’s carbon accounting platform to measure their emissions and identify a durable removal pathway.

Supercritical then enabled Tide to purchase 3,711 tonnes of carbon dioxide removal through its platform and supported the process while Tide commissioned Carbon Footprint Ltd to audit the assessment. The auditors approved Supercritical’s methodology to ISO 14064 Part 3 (2019), certifying Tide as a CO2e certified organisation under the Carbon Footprint Standard and confirming Tide had removed 100% of its emissions.
