A Superblocks Case Study
Shiru, an Alameda-based company using machine learning, bioinformatics, and precision fermentation to discover sustainable ingredients, needed a better way to analyze protein testing results at scale. Their data was siloed across multiple Postgres and Snowflake tables, and existing biotech R&D software lacked the customization needed for protein analysis and reporting, making it difficult for scientists to self-serve and collaborate.
Using Superblocks, Shiru built internal apps for batch experiment analysis, protein scoring across experimental sets, and inventory lookup, all connected to their existing data sources. With customizable UIs and Python support for Pandas and Plotly, Superblocks helped Shiru deliver scientific insights about 3x faster, including pulling up results just an hour after measuring 300+ protein samples and reducing manual, error-prone work.
