Khan Academy's professional learning team faced significant challenges in training teachers on their platform. Their hour-long live sessions were often consumed by basic product setup, such as logins, leaving little time for instructional strategies. Using slides with static screenshots was time-consuming, and their remote team frequently duplicated efforts without a shared resource library. To address these inefficiencies and reclaim valuable training time, they turned to the vendor Supademo and its interactive demo platform.

Supademo provided a solution where a core team of three authors creates master interactive walkthroughs, which two dozen teammates can then copy and personalize for different school districts. This allowed teachers to complete product setup as pre-work, reclaiming 15-20 minutes per live session. The Supademo links remain valid even when the product changes, eliminating the need to redistribute updated resources. As a result, Khan Academy's team now uses live sessions for higher-level instruction while Supademo handles the foundational knowledge efficiently.
