Qatar delivers 870 MW solar project with Sungrow

The customer, Qatar, faced significant challenges in deploying an 870 MW solar project as part of its national decarbonization goals. The extreme desert environment, with temperatures up to 52°C, salinity, and storms, demanded equipment far beyond conventional standards. Vendor Sungrow provided a solution utilizing its SG320HX string inverters and MVS8850-LV medium voltage stations, all built with high IP66/C5 protection ratings to withstand the harsh conditions.

Sungrow implemented a comprehensive solution specifically engineered for the Qatari desert, successfully delivering the project on time. The deployment of 2,760 inverter units and 92 medium voltage station sets demonstrated the system's durability and performance. This project represents a major step in Qatar's renewable energy transition and showcased Sungrow's capability in enabling large-scale, complex solar deployments in extreme environments.
