Municipality of Kimolos powers 220 m³/day desalination with Sungrow

The Municipality of Kimolos faced a challenge securing its summer water supply due to a rising population and climate change. They needed a sustainable way to power seawater desalination. Partnering with vendor Sungrow and EPC Zillion, they implemented a solar energy solution using Sungrow's SG50CX-P2 string inverters.

The solution was a 100 kWp photovoltaic system built to withstand harsh island conditions, directly powering a new desalination unit. The Sungrow equipment ensured reliable operation, resulting in the production of 220 cubic meters of clean drinking water per day for the island's residents and visitors. This Sungrow-powered system provided a sustainable energy and water source for the municipality.
