A Sungrow Case Study
The customer, GPG, required a large-scale, reliable renewable energy solution to integrate into the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) grid in Western Australia. They partnered with Sungrow to develop the Cunderdin Hybrid Project, which involved building one of Australia's most advanced DC-coupled solar-plus-storage facilities to deliver stable clean power.
Sungrow implemented a solution featuring 128 MWdc of solar PV and a 55 MW/220 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Leveraging its grid-integration expertise, Sungrow provided full-lifecycle support to ensure the project met stringent compliance requirements and achieved commercial operation on schedule in March 2025. The result is Australia's largest operational project of its type, which now delivers 100% of its output to the grid, providing stable, flexible clean energy and marking a significant step in the country's renewable transition.
