Cirata Reservoir Floating Photovoltaic System deploys 192 MW floating PV with Sungrow

The Cirata Reservoir Floating Photovoltaic System in Indonesia faced significant engineering challenges due to the reservoir's complex underwater terrain, featuring steep slopes and thick silt layers. These conditions made the design and installation of a reliable mooring system for the floating photovoltaic array exceptionally difficult. Vendor Sungrow was tasked with providing a solution for this massive project.

Sungrow's technology team developed high-load-bearing anchors specifically tailored to the site's unique geology, which enhanced load capacity and prevented slippage. Through precise computational simulations, Sungrow verified each anchor point, completing an efficient mooring design that maximized the constrained water space. This solution successfully enabled the installation of the world's largest floating PV project at a hydroelectric power station, achieving a capacity of 192 MW.
