A Sungrow Case Study
Banco De Olhos De Sorocaba (BOS), a nationally recognized ophthalmology hospital in Brazil, faced a technical challenge while building a solar carport. The solar inverters needed to be installed safely out of public reach in an enclosed room, but this created a risk of overheating that could harm system performance. They partnered with vendor Sungrow, utilizing their SG250HX inverters, to address this issue.
Sungrow designed a custom cooling solution based on thermal load calculations, directing cool air to the inverter heat sinks to maintain an optimal 25°C room temperature. This solution ensured safety and high efficiency. The resulting 3 MWp plant generates 4,500 MWh of clean energy annually, cutting the hospital's energy costs by 30% and saving approximately R$300,000 per month. The project also reduces CO₂ emissions by 7,160 tons per year.
