Exponential-e, a leading U.K. networking and cloud provider serving 1,700+ customers, was building a 71,500-square-foot colocation data centre and needed a responsive way to monitor data‑centre and per‑cabinet power health while giving customers secure remote management. To meet those challenges Exponential-e selected Sunbird DCIM and its Power IQ DCIM monitoring software (integrated with Raritan intelligent PDUs) to provide real‑time visibility and remote access for both operations staff and tenants.

Sunbird DCIM’s Power IQ ingested device‑level power data from iPDUs, fed a 24x7 NOC dashboard and customer portals, and enabled alerts, billing‑grade (+/‑1%) metering, forecasting and “what‑if” capacity planning. The solution reduced manual intervention (customers can remote reboot equipment), delivered early‑warning alerts, produced per‑customer energy reports, supported power negotiations with suppliers, and helped Exponential-e achieve one of the industry’s lowest PUEs while improving SLA visibility and operational efficiency.
